Seventeen people charged for Pine Ridge Reservation drug ring

The U.S. Attorney in South Dakota announced indictments against 17 people for trafficking drugs on and near the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota.

The Oglala Sioux Tribe and other agencies investigated the sale of methamphetamine, marijuana and cocaine on the reservation. Most of the people who were indicted live at Pine Ridge.

"Today's indictments represent a significant chapter in the ongoing efforts to eradicate illegal drug trafficking in communities throughout South Dakota. I am grateful for the close cooperation among federal, tribal, and state law enforcement officers who have work diligently on these cases," US Attorney Brendan Johnson said in a press release.
