United Auburn Indian Community names a new administrator

The United Auburn Indian Community of California has hired a new administrator.

Roman Porter is the former executive director of the California Fair Political Practices Commission. He will oversee the tribe's governmental employees and the tribe's education, cultural resources and environmental programs.

Porter replaces Gregory Baker, whom the Internal Revenue Service has accused, along with two others, of bilking the tribe out of $18.6 million. No charges have been filed.
