Tribes in Wisconsin seek to join anti-gang prevention effort

The Forest County Potawatomi Community and the Sokaogon Chippewa Community are looking for ways to battle gangs on their reservations.

The National Violence Prevention Resource Center says tribes can change their laws to address gangs and crimes. And they can also work together to come up with strategies.

"Singly and individually it's going to be hard for one tribe to be successful, to deal with a gang problem. Unless they form a collaborative and begin to work together," Chris Cuestas, a gang expert, told WJFW-TV.

Five people with connections to a gang have been arrested for a recent stabbing on the Sokaogon Chippewa Community.
