Letter: Oglala Sioux Tribe should consider a 'wet' reservation

"The Indian reservation at Pine Ridge and about two miles from Whiteclay, Neb., is suing the beer distributors serving White Clay as the tribe maintains such products are contaminating and disrupting the lives of natives served at Whiteclay.

The natives vote for a dry reservation and blame the Nebraska whites for native drinking. To make the reservation wet would cause the Whiteclay problem to go away.

A larger factor of the problem may be money and other items from the government, not requiring work, and providing time and funds to spend with merchants in Whiteclay."
