Body of missing Native teenager located in snow in Manitoba

A search crew from the Peguis First Nation in Manitoba located the body of a Native teen who had gone missing from the reserve.

Andrew Stevenson, 17, was found in the snow in a rural area just south of the reserve's boundary. He had been missing since last Monday.

Stevenson lives in Winnipeg and had gone to the reserve to visit relatives. "We don't know what happened," his mother, Rachelle Beauchamp, told The Winnipeg Free Press.

Authorities do not suspect foul play. However, they are asking anyone with information to contact the RCMP.

The results of an autopsy are pending.
