A flyer being emailed to residents of San Bernardino County blames James Ramos, the chairman of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, for gangs, drugs and crime on the reservation.

Ramos is running for 3rd district supervisor in the county. His rival, the incumbent Neil Derry, claims crime has run rampant on the reservation.

The flyer features images of a gang member, drugs and drug paraphernalia.. Part of the it mentions a 2008 investigation into the Mexican Mafia on the reservation.

"It's ridiculous," Dave Gilliard, a political consultant for Ramos, told the paper of Derry's flyer. "To call it desperate would be charitable."
