Man seeks $24M for Native symbol on Massachusetts seal

A Massachusetts man is seeking $24 million and the removal of Indian imagery from the state's official seal.

The seal depicts an Indian man with a bow and an arrow. The arrow is pointed downward, signifying peace.

An arm holding a sword hangs over the Indian man's head. The seal also features the state's motto, which translates to: "With a sword, she seeks quiet peace under liberty."

“It’s unfair to the native peoples,” Daniel DeGuglielmo, who filed the lawsuit, told The Boston Herald.

The state is arguing that DeGuglielmo has failed to show how he's been harmed by the seal.
