Indian Association of Tennessee faces loss of federal grant

The Native American Indian Association of Tennessee could lose a $248,000 federal grant from the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

The organization plans to use the money to build a cultural center in Nashville. But after raising an additional $190,000, NAIA hasn't been able to secure financing or sponsors for the project, The Tennessean reported.

The center, including land, is expected to cost $1.1 million.
