Rival factions from Little Shell Chippewa Tribe present case

A special panel of judges will decide who runs the Little Shell Tribe of Chippewa Indians of Montana.

John Sinclair is in charge of the Little Shell Tribal Council. John Gilbert is serving as chairman of another faction, known as the Little Shell Alliance.

The rival councils entered into mediation supervised by the Native American Rights Fund. That led to a hearing on Saturday where both sides presented their case.

A decision is expected within 10 days, according to news reports.
