Maori man upset after being kicked out of bar for tribal tattoo

A Maori man was kicked out of a bar in Christchurch, New Zealand, because of his tribal face tattoo.

Tunahau Kohu's moko tells the story of his tribe and his ancestry. But staff at The Turf told him to leave -- enough though the waitress herself had a tattoo on her neck and another patron with a face tattoo was allowed to stay.

Kohu met with the bar manager, who offered an apology. But the bar plans to maintain the policy and Kohu is urging others to boycott the business.

"The only way out of that one was for him to apologise," Kohu told APNZ News Service. "There was no meaning in it."
