Salt River Tribe considers changes in roadside sign ordinance

The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community of Arizona is reviewing its roadside sign ordinance.

There are 21 billboards on the reservation. At the request of Salt River Devco, the tribe's economic development arm, the tribe might allow more.

"This is something that has been touted as a way to generate revenue," President Diane Enos told The Arizona Republic. "I'm not sure we've really assessed the potential effects."

The reservation borders Scottsdale.
