Navajo woman chairing board of supervisors in Arizona county






Lena Fowler, a member of the Navajo Nation, is the first American Indian to chair the board of supervisors in Coconino County, Arizona.

Fowler started her position on Monday, the Associated Press reported. She'll serve until mid-April of 2012.

Fowler is in the third year of a four-year term on the board.
