Cherokee Nation's top court orders hand recount of all ballots

The Supreme Court of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma ordered a hand recount of all of the ballots that were cast in the principal chief's race.

The court already ordered a recount of the absentee ballots and the envelopes. The new count will start on Saturday but it's unclear whether the result will determine the winner of the race, according to news reports.

The tribe's election commission certified Bill John Baker as the winner of the race by 266 votes. But incumbent Chad Smith went to court and said the count and recount were fatally flawed.
