Navajo Nation man pleads guilty in second degree murder case

Gary Begay, a member of the Navajo Nation, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.

Begay, 25, admitted that he shot and killed Allen Ashike at a residence in Shiprock, New Mexico, last December. A witness said Begay was angry that Ashike was teasing him.

As part of his plea, Begay agreed to serve 14 years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, although a federal judge hasn't entered a sentence.
