Coeur d'Alene Tribe offers testimony for redistricting meeting

The Coeur d'Alene Tribe wants to stay in its current district in Idaho, legislative director Helo Hancock said at a public hearing on Tuesday. The reservation sits in District 2, along with Kootenai County. Hancock said the tribe and the county share many ties that should be maintained when a new legislative map is redrawn.

"We would like to see the Coeur d'Alene Reservation stay intact, and we would like the reservation to be included in a legislative district that is joined with Kootenai County," Hancock told Idaho's Citizen Commission for Reapportionment, The Spokesman Review reported.
