City planning to discuss Ho-Chunk Nation's land-into-trust bid

City officials in Baraboo, Wisconsin, are raising concerns about the Ho-Chunk Nation land-into-trust application.

The tribe wants to place 600 acres in trust .The land will be used for an IMAX theater, restaurant, cultural heritage center, strip mall and RV park.

The city council hasn't taken a stance yet but officials are worried about the loss in property taxes. Sauk County estimates it will be out about $700,000 a year if the application is approved.

The Bureau of Indian Affairs is reviewing the application.
