Rival Schaghticoke leaders still trying to remove non-Indian

Rival leaders on the Schaghticoke Reservation in Connecticut are still trying to evict a non-Indian man from their land.

Michael Rost has lived in a home owned by a tribal member for several years. A state judge ordered him to leave but he filed an appeal.

The Schaghticoke Tribal Nation and the Schaghticoke Indian Tribe, normally rivals, both want Rost to leave. They say he has destroyed archaeological sites on the reservation.

Judge Corinne L. Klatt refused to reconsider her decision to evict Rost but it's not clear when he will leave the reservation.

The reservation is recognized by the state.
