Lummi Nation and county closer to agreement for ferry dock

The Lummi Nation and Whatcom County in Washington are reportedly near an agreement for the Lummi Island ferry.

Negotiators developed a proposal yesterday, county executive Pete Kremen told The Bellingham Herald. If the tribal council signs off, the dispute over the ferry could be resolved before a May 15 deadline set by the tribe.

The dock for the ferry is located on the reservation.
