Energy Department to broadcast tribal summit on Internet

The Department of Energy will broadcast its upcoming tribal leaders' summit on the Internet.

The DOE Tribal Summit takes place from May 4-5 at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, Virginia. Tribal leaders will meet with senior policy advisers on May 4 and with Secretary Steven Chu on May 5.

"Tribal Nations are well-positioned to take advantage of the benefits of clean energy. This summit will provide an opportunity for meaningful dialogue between the Department of Energy and Tribal Nations on a broad range of energy and environmental issues," Chu said in a press release. "Working together we can achieve important goals of President Obama's National Energy Policy to the benefit of American Indian and Alaska Native Tribes as well as our Nation as a whole."

Only the sessions on May 5 will be broadcast online. Details can be found on the preliminary agenda.
