Justin McGee, a member of the Chickasaw Nation of Oklahoma, died suddenly on Friday after collapsing during a basketball game at Haskell Indian Nations University in Kansas.

McGee was a student at Haskell. He would have turned 21 on Tuesday.

“Justin was an excellent young man, a member of the Chickasaw Nation of Oklahoma and a redshirt member of the Haskell men’s basketball team,” acting Haskell president Clyde Peacock said in a statement, The Lawrence Journal World reported. “The university wishes to thank everyone at Haskell, especially staff and students, as well as the Lawrence community for their support during this difficult time.”

McGee is being buried in Oklahoma on Friday.
