Rep. Young sets March 8 hearing on funding for Indian programs

Rep. Don Young (R-Alaska), the chairman of the new Subcommittee on Indian and Alaska Native Affairs, will hold a hearing next Tuesday, March 8, to discuss funding for Indian programs.

The hearing takes place at 11am in Room 1334 of the Longworth House Office Building. Witnesses from the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Office of the Special Trustee for American Indians are scheduled to testify.

Young supports funding for Indian programs but believes a greater share of the money should go directly to tribes and Alaska Natives.
