Fort Peck official pleads not guilty to DUI charge in tribal court

A council member for the Fort Peck Assiniboine and Sioux Tribes of Montana has pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor DUI charge.

Darryl Red Eagle, 45, was pulled over on January 21 after he ran a stop sign on the reservation. His blood alcohol level was reportedly 0.262, more than three times the legal limit.

Red Eagle is chairman of the tribe's Health and Human Services Committee.
