White House OMB posts documents for fiscal year 2012 budget

The White House Office of Management and Budget has posted documents for the fiscal year 2012 budget.

The Interior Department request is $12 billion. That's about the same as the current level.

According to the OMB, the DOI budget "Strengthens Native American communities through the Tribal Law and Order Act of 2010 with funding to reduce crime and protect natural resources."

Specifically, the Bureau of Indian Affairs request is $2.5 billion. That's lower than the $2.6 billion the agency received in fiscal year 2010.

The Department of Health and Human Services request is $79.9 billion. That's slightly higher than the 2010 level.

According to the OMB, the HHS budget "Increases access to health care services among American Indians and Alaska Natives."

Specifically, the Indian Health Service request is $4.6 billion. That's higher than the $4.1 billion from 2010.
