Agua Caliente Band shoots down rumors of Hard Rock Hotel bid

The Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians is in negotiations to lease some of its land for a hotel, but rumors of a Hard Rock Hotel are inaccurate, a spokesperson told The Palm Springs Desert Sun.

During his State of the City address on Tuesday, Palm Springs Mayor Steve Pougnet said a Hard Rock was "coming to town." But a spokesperson said there have been no commitments for that.

However, the tribe is negotiating with developer who previously wanted to bring Hard Rock to Palm Springs, the spokesperson said.

The Seminole Tribe of Florida owns the Hard Rock franchise.
