Osage Nation joins development partnership for airport in Arizona

The Osage Nation of Oklahoma is in talks to develop an airport and airpark in Peoria, Arizona.

The tribe has partnered with developer Mike Oliver on the project. Osage West LLC has entered into exclusive negotiations with the city.

"This may sound like a pie-in-the-sky, and that's probably exactly where it is right now, but if it were to happen, it would exceed my wildest expectations," Mayor Bob Barrett told The Arizona Republic.

As part of an effort to diversify its economy, the tribe has entered into a similar development partnership with a construction company.
