Seminole Tribe submits land-into-trust application for housing plan

The Seminole Tribe of Florida has submitted a land-into-trust application to the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

The tribe plans to use a 750-acre site for housing. The land was purchased for about $13 million.

"Building houses has been a priority so that Seminoles can live together … but do so more so on their own terms," Jessica Cattelino, an anthropology professor who has studied the tribe, told The Tampa Tribune.
