San Felipe Pueblo man sentenced to 12 years on murder charge

Leon Ray Sanchez, a 24-year-old man from San Felipe Pueblo in New Mexico, was sentenced to 12 years in prison on a second-degree murder charge.

Sanchez pleaded guilty for the murder of 48-year-old Nancy Sandoval. He admitted he killed Sandoval and left her on a remote part of the reservation.

Sanchez will serve 12 years in prison and five years of supervised release.
