Chippewa Cree Tribe increases costs of storm recovery to $32M
The Chippewa Cree Tribe says it needs at least $32 million to recover from a major storm that wreaked havoc on the Rocky Boy's Reservation in Montana.

The tribe lost its $12 million health center, numerous roads and some bridges. About 50 out of 900 homes on the reservation were flooded in the June storm.

"We're trying to look at creative ways to come up with more money," Tribal Chairman Raymond "Jake" Parker told Sen. Max Baucus (D-Montana), who visited the reservation on Thursday, The Great Falls Tribune reported. "We're going to be coming to you for a lot of help."

The tribe signed an agreement with the Federal Emergency Management Agency that covers the full cost of recovery efforts.
