Rex Pooyouma, last Hopi Code Talker, passes away at age of 93
Rex Pooyouma, a member of the Hopi Tribe of Arizona who served as a Code Talker during World War II, died on October 23. He was 93.

Pooyouma was the last of 10 Hopi Code Talkers. They used the Hopi language to transmit unbreakable messages during the Pacific theater of WWII.

"We are saddened to hear the news of the passing of one of our World War II veterans," Chairman LeRoy N. Shingoitewa said in a statement, The Navajo-Hopi Observer reported.
