Nottawaseppi Huron Band announces a full time chief of police
The Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi Indians of Michigan has a full time chief of police.

Duane Sprague joined the tribe's police department in December 2009. He was serving as interim chief since February of this year.

“Sprague has displayed professionalism and excellence while serving as an officer and interim police chief for the Tribal Police Department, and the Tribal Council made a decision during the interview process that he was well qualified to become the full time chief of police,” Chairperson Homer A. Mandoka said in a statement.

The tribe's police department was created in February 2009. It serves the Pine Creek Reservation.
