Raymond Harvey, Chickasaw veteran, set for military hall of fame
Raymond Harvey, the only member of the Chickasaw Nation to receive a Medal of Honor, will be inducted into the Oklahoma Military Hall of Fame on November 11.

Harvey served in World War II and in Korea. He received the Medal of Honor for his actions on March 9, 1951, in Korea. He also received the Distinguished Service Cross for gallantry in combat, three Silver Stars, three Bronze Stars, three Purple Hearts, ten Campaign stars, two Presidential Unit Citations, the Croix de Guerre with Palm from the French government, the Chung Mu Distinguished Service Medal with Gold Star from the South Korean government, a Combat Infantry Badge and seven additional medals.

Harvey died in 1996.
