OMB panel to consult tribes about change in federal contracting
The Federal Acquisition Regulatory Council at the White House Office of Management and Budget will consult tribes about changes in federal government contracting.

The 2010 Defense Authorization Act requires federal agencies to justify sole-source contracts to tribal and Alaska Native businesses if the amount of the contract is greater than $20 million. The law also requires more public disclosure of such contracts.

The consultations will take place during the month of October in Washington, DC; Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Fairbanks, Alaska.
