Eastern Cherokee fighter back on reservation to encourage youth
Dan "The Handler" Hornbuckle, a rising mixed martial arts fighter, returned to the reservation to meet and train with youth from the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.

Hornbuckle, a tribal member, stressed teamwork, loyalty, responsibility and dedication in his meeting with the youth, The Cherokee One Feather reported. He also urged the youth to respect their elders, parents and teachers.

"We punch each other in the face and hug afterwards. Where else can you do this?” Hornbuckle said, the paper reported.

Hornbuckle was presented with a traditional bear claw necklace, an eagle feather and a tribal flag during his visit.
