BIA names permanent regional director for Great Plains office
The Bureau of Indian Affairs named Weldon “Bruce” Loudermilk as the permanent director for the Great Plains Regional Office.

Loudermilk, a member of the Fort Peck Tribes of Montana, began his career at the BIA in 1990. He most recently served as a deputy regional director and has worked at the Office of the Special Trustee.

“I am pleased that Bruce Loudermilk has joined my regional management team as the Bureau of Indian Affairs Great Plains Regional Director,” said BIA Director Michael Black. “His substantial knowledge of BIA tribal programs, his expertise in trust management and his private sector experience make him well-suited to carrying out the BIA’s mission of service to the tribes.”

The Great Plains office serves 16 tribes in Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota.
