New Minerals Management Service head to oversee reform
The new director of the Minerals Management Service will oversee reform efforts at the agency, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar said in a press release.

Michael R. Bromwich, is a former inspector general at the Department of Justice. He will help split MMS into three separate agencies -- one for royalty collection, another for safety and environmental enforcement and the other for ocean energy management.

MMS is responsible for ensuring tribes and individual Indians receive royalties for oil and gas development on their lands.
