Couple pleads guilty over hate crime attack on Native man
A man and woman from Anchorage pleaded guilty in connection with a racially-motivated assault against an Alaska Native man.

Robert Gum, 19, and Deanna Scaglione, 21, will plead guilty in federal court to interference with federally protected activity, The Anchorage Daily News reported. They had posted video of their July 2009 attack on Eddie Barr on YouTube.

The couple threw eggs at Barr, pushed him, kicked him and yelled racial slurs. "I hate you Eskimos," they reportedly said.

Gum and Scaglione face charges in state court for the incident.
