Officer cites discrimination after Indian colleague promoted
A police officer in Farmington, New Mexico, who filed an age and race discrimination lawsuit after an Indian colleague was promoted has reportedly reached a settlement.

Sgt. Ron Anderson, whose age was not reported, applied for the job of lieutenant. He claims the police chief told him a younger and less experienced officer was hired because the candidate was American Indian.

The city council has met twice to discuss the settlement, The Farmington Daily Times reported.
