Students lobby to place Nez Perce Chief Joseph on $20 bill
Students at a high school on the Fort Belknap Indian Community in Montana are lobbying to have an image of Nez Perce Chief Joseph on the $20 bill.

The students at Hays-Lodgepole High School say Chief Joseph would be a better representation on the bill than President Andrew Jackson, who was known for forcing the removal of the Five Civilized Tribes to Oklahoma.

"We figured Native Americans should be recognized first," teacher Sandra Sather-Westley told The Great Falls Tribune.

The students are contacting as many people as possible in hopes of gaining support for their request.
