The Southern Ute Tribe of Colorado will take the lead under a new agreement designed to improve the quality of roads on the reservation.
The tribe signed an agreement with the Colorado Department of Transportation, La Plata County and the town of Ignacio. The governments will develop a comprehensive plan to address road and transportation issues.
Activity has increased in and around Ignacio due to the tribe's casino and the tribe's oil and gas development.
