Ute student prepares to graduate from Haskell University

Tracy Pargeets, a member of the Ute Tribe of Utah, will graduate from Haskell Indian Nations University in Kansas on Friday.

Pargeets earned a degree in bachelor’s degree in business. She already has a full-time job at the American Indian Records Repository, operated by the Interior Department.

“I just think it’s important for us to know our history,” Pargeets told The Lawrence Journal-World. “Our tradition and culture, we need to keep it going into the future.”

Pargeets and her brother, Adelbert Pargeets, will graduate together. They are the first in their family to earn bachelor’s degrees.
