Passamaquoddy Tribe eyes purchase of furniture factory
The Passamaquoddy Tribe at Indian Township in Maine is looking at purchasing a furniture factory that is in bankruptcy proceedings.

The tribe is conducting a feasibility study to determine if it can sustain the Moosehead Furniture Co. “We want to be sure we have the ability to keep people working, and not tear or shut it down," Gov. William Nicholas told The Bangor Daily News.

If the plan goes through, the tribe hopes the factory can secure federal contracts as a minority-owned business.
