Chickasaw Nation extends smoking ban to more businesses

The Chickasaw Nation of Oklahoma has expanded its non-smoking policy.

Last May, the tribe banned smoking in tribal health centers. Now, all restaurants, food courts and event centers at tribal-owned property are smoke free.

But the ban probably won't be extended to gaming facilities. "While it is not feasible to prohibit smoking in all of our commercial facilities, we are taking measures to minimize the impact of second-hand smoke," Bill Lance, the tribe's division of commerce administrator, said in a statement to The Oklahoman.
