Ojibwe woman named director for BIA's Midwest region
Diane Rosen, a member of the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians of Wisconsin, has been named the director of the Midwest regional office of the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

Rosen has worked for the BIA for 26 years. She has spent her entire career in the Midwest region, which serves 35 tribes in Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

"I am looking forward to working with the tribes of the Midwest Region, and I am committed to ensuring they receive the highest level of service from our regional office and agencies," Rosen said in a press release.

Rosen permanently fills one of six regional director positions that have been vacant or have had someone serving in an acting capacity. Additionally, two director positions in the Washington, D.C., office have someone serving in an acting capacity.
