Nottawaseppi Huron Band agrees to policing deal
The Nottawaseppi Huron Band of Potawatomi Indians finalized a police services agreement with the village of Athens, Michigan.

The tribe will provide a police officer for the village for about 25 hours a week. The village will pay about $25,000 a year for the service.

The tribe started its police department earlier this year with one officer. The police chief expects to hire two more officers by the end of the year.
