Jason Tallbull,a former employee of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe of Montana, was sentenced to probation for stealing from the tribe.

Tallbull, 28, was a payroll clerk in the tribe’s administrative office. He admitted he wrote checks to himself and inflated his payroll checks for a total of $7,386.

Talbull was also ordered to pay restitution of $6,304.
