Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe sued out of state
The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe of Massachusetts is facing its first out-of-state lawsuit.

The tribe is being sued in Florida by a woman who wants more than $400,000 in back pay and expenses. Gayle Andrews says the tribe broke a contract for her to provide public relations services.

Andrews was hired by former chairman Shawn Hendricks for $336,000 a year. She reportedly left Massachusetts when Cedric Cromwell was elected in February.

Andrews says the tribe waived its sovereign immunity in the contract.
