Little Traverse chair drops wind turbine project
The new chairman of the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians of Michigan has withdrawn plans for a wind turbine.

Ken Harrington said it would be a conflict of interest to pursue the project while serving as chairman. But he wants the tribe to support wind energy development.

“Tribal resources are greater as is their working capitol and grant capabilities, so I look forward to my tribe as wind turbine developers on a much larger scale than I proposed," Harrington told The Petoskey News-Review.

Harrington and other tribal leaders were sworn in on Sunday.
