Priscilla Hunter, the former chairwoman of the Coyote Valley Band of Pomo
Indians of California, was sentenced to four years of probation on tax charges.
Hunter pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor count of willful failure to file tax returns. . She had been charged with multiple crimes as part of dramatic corruption investigation but the case against her and other former tribal leaders fell apart over the years.
As part of her sentence, Hunter was ordered to perform 1,000 hours of community service and pay $78,000 in restitution.
