BLM accepting claims to ancestors and artifacts
The Bureau of Land Management plans to repatriate 197 ancestors and artifacts to three tribes unless others come forward with valid claims.

The ancestors and associated funerary objects were uncovered during the excavation of the Animas-La Plata Project in Colorado. The BLM says the remains and items are affiliated with Acoma, Laguna and Zia pueblos in New Mexico.

Other tribes have until August 30 to make claims to the BLM.
