Exhibit chronicles 100 years of Kiowa history

A unique exhibit of Kiowa history is on display at the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History in Norman.

"One Hundred Summers: A Kiowa Calendar Record" chronicles 100 years of Kiowa history. From 1829 to 1929. artist and calendar-keeper Silver Horn created two images every year to document significant events.

"We don't have that many documents that provide us with Native American perspective," curator Dan Swan told The Tulsa World.

The exhibit runs through August 23.
